Private Paddocking

$130 p/w

*includes all feed

Makino offers spacious private paddocking for owners with two or more horses that would like the convenience of keeping them together, separate from general herd grazing. This is suitable for owners with horses of similar needs that can be managed on pasture all year round.

Makino takes care of all pasture management in these paddocks to take the worry out of it for you. Horses are strip grazed to ensure access to lower sugar grass and limiting overgrazing by back fencing where appropriate. Paddocks are harrowed, rested and cross grazed with cattle to ensure a healthy, sustainable pasture sward for your horses, while also helping to manage parasite burden.

Horses have a fresh break of grass in front of them every day, year-round, and are supplemented with haylage over the winter which is grown at Makino to ensure the best quality for your horse.

The weekly charge includes a daily feed of Harvest Grains Timothy Smart Feed and Kohnke’s Own Cell Vital as well as Makino’s low sugar haylage over winter. Because of the way we manage our pastures at Makino, most owners find that their horses don’t require any additional feeding, even for hard keeping TB types.

Horses in our private paddocks are checked at least twice daily and owners are able to enjoy full use of all facilities as well as join our group hacks.
