I can't praise Makino and Jess highly enough. We have had three horses and ponies living (thriving) there at different times, all with very different needs which were all expertly and consistently met each time. We currently have our daughter's fullsize pony living his very best life on the track under Jess's wonderful care. I never thought I would choose to keep him away from home, but it is just the very best option for us. When we are busy (so always!) we know that he is still being loved and looked after by Jess (who loves them all like they are own - no matter how many she is caring for!) and having Peta of Meraki Equine on hand as well means that he is even kept fit and has his rehab exercises taken care of so that our daughter can still enjoy him when she has time, even though she is crazy busy with all of her (very many!) other non-horse activities. It's very much a privilege to be able to keep our beloved Buddy at Makino.

Makino grazing is an absolute wonderful place for horses and ponies. I was in a situation where my horse was overweight and I was struggling to get a handle on it. Jess was calm and supportive. She welcomed me and my horse with options and suggestions. I felt comfortable and well taken care of.  She came up with a plan and after three months of him being on the track and exercised by Peta, he came out looking the best I’ve ever seen him. He had a new lease on life and I had gained a horse that I could ride and have fun with. There isn’t any place like it. The horse world is very fortunate to have someone like Jess who cares as much as she does about each individual horse and person.
